The Rocky Mountain Dispatch, a publication of Becht Media Ltd., is committed to a high standard of journalism. We believe that everyone deserves to have access to accurate and unbiased information, and we strive to provide that through our reporting.
Under the Becht Media Ltd. umbrella, we deliver hard-hitting journalism and thoughtful analysis focused on the pulse of Colorado—from state policy and infrastructure developments to vital environmental conservation efforts, including water rights and wildlife management. Beyond our state borders, we also cast our gaze upward, offering unique and in-depth coverage of space exploration, astrophysics, and the human factors shaping the future of space travel.
The Family Behind the Dispatch
At our core, we are a family of seven. Ty (the dad) holds a degree in astronomy and brings years of experience in the newspaper business and journalism. He has been writing The Rocky Mountain Dispatch since 2014, and is deeply passionate about space exploration, loving nothing more than sharing his knowledge with others. Jeannette (the mother) is our social media editor with a true knack for connecting with people online, constantly finding new ways to use social media to share our stories with the world.
Our children are all involved in our journalism in their own unique ways, and many of our stories are actually born from the questions they ask:
- Raelene (15) is our resident antagonist. She is always questioning everything and loves to challenge our assumptions.
- Leonard (12) serves as our Chief Questioner Officer. He is always asking questions and wants to know the “why” behind everything.
- Jaz (11) is in charge of glitter. She loves to add a little sparkle to everything we write.
- Quinn (9) is the chief editor of all animal stories. She is obsessed with animals and knows everything there is to know about them.
- Willow (8) tests our integrity and patience in reporting the story, and she also absolutely loves animal pictures.
We are a family of journalists, but first and foremost, we are a family. We love and support each other no matter what. We believe that family is the most important thing in the world, and we are grateful to have each other.
We hope that you enjoy our reporting and that you find it informative and engaging. We are always looking for ways to improve, so please feel free to send us your feedback. Thank you for reading!
