We are a family of seven who are committed to a high standard of journalism. We believe that everyone deserves to have access to accurate and unbiased information, and we strive to provide that through our reporting.
Ty (the dad) has a degree in astronomy and has years of experience in the newspaper business and journalism. He has been writing the ‘blog’ the Rocky Mountain Dispatch since 2014. He is passionate about space exploration and loves to share his knowledge with others. Jeannette (the mother) is a social media editor and has a knack for connecting with people online. She is always looking for new ways to use social media to share our stories with the world.
Our children are all involved in our journalism in their own way. Raelene, our 13-year-old daughter, is our resident antagonist. She is always questioning everything and loves to challenge our assumptions. Leonard, our 10-year-old son, is our chief questioner officer. He is always asking questions and wants to know the why behind everything. Jaz, our 8-year-old daughter, is in charge of glitter. She loves to add a little sparkle to everything we write. Quinn, our 7-year-old daughter, is the chief editor of all animal stories. She is obsessed with animals and knows everything there is to know about them. Willow, our 6-year-old daughter, tests our integrity and patience in reporting the story, she also loves animal pictures. Many of our stories are based on the questions that our children have.
We are a family of journalists, but we are also a family. We love each other and we support each other. We are always there for each other, no matter what. We believe that family is the most important thing in the world, and we are grateful to have each other.
We hope that you enjoy our reporting and that you find it informative and engaging. We are always looking for ways to improve, so please feel free to send us your feedback. Thank you for reading!
