‘Skate in the Park’ Returns to Acacia Park with Festive Flair

Colorado Springs’ beloved winter tradition, “Skate in the Park,” opens this Friday at Acacia Park, transforming downtown into a holiday wonderland. The outdoor ice rink will feature themed nights, live performances, and family-friendly activities through early January.

Opening night kicks off with Olympic figure skaters performing under twinkling lights, followed by caroling groups and a visit from Santa Claus. Admission is $10, including skate rental, with discounts for children and seniors.

The rink is open daily, with extended hours on weekends and holidays. Special events include “Ugly Sweater Skate,” “Frozen Night,” and “Skate with the Switchbacks,” where local soccer players join fans on the ice.

Downtown Partnership Director Susan Edmondson said, “Skate in the Park brings joy, movement, and community spirit to the heart of the city. It’s more than skating—it’s celebration.”
